Risk ASSESMENT

The risk that we have is one of the crew members bumping into a table, due to the fact that when we are filming the lights are going to be off, and we would be lighting up the backdrop that we are working leaving nearly the whole room dark and we might not be able to see and therefore bump into one if the tables.
Legislation & regulation or technical broadcast constraints (copyright issues and where you will sources these from, technical broadcast requirements colour safe and resolution, Permissions and Shooting Licences)
The solution for this risk is that we are going to push the table to the far end of the room where we will not visit often
The biggest risk that we have is tripping on the wires laid out on the floor and because it's going to be dark there is a high possibility that we will trip over this wires. The solution to this is that we are going to cover the wires with the green screen material that flows to the floor.

Equality and Diversity
Equality and Diversity issues ( Discrimination Act 1995)
The Equality Act 2010. The Equality Act became law in October 2010. It replaced previous legislation (such as the Race Relations Act 1976 and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995) and ensures consistency in what employers and employees need to do to make their workplaces a fair environment and comply with the law. The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.
The equality act was made in 2010 this was so that people will stop discriminating against people’s race, age or the sex. The reason why this could cause issues, as we are using dolls we can not discriminate against their race such as the race of them. The reason that this could become problematic because people may feel as if they are discriminating against colour so we will have to find dolls with diverse colours such as black and white dolls. Also due to the fact that we have more than one race within our college so, therefore, this is needed to showcase the different races that we have in our college. Age will not be an issue due to the fact that we are using dolls and they all look of the same age however if we add younger dolls then this will look too childish due to the fact that we are already using dolls which are already childlike. We will have many different types of dolls in our ident we will add male and female dolls, the reason for this is to show equality between the different sex within our college.
Copyright Act 1988: Copyright,
The Copyright, Designs and Broadcast safe
is the current UK copyright law. It gives the creators of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the right to control the ways in which their material may be used.
The copyrights act is used to ensure that the materials and resources we use are not copied or taken from other materials and this is known as stealing which is why people have their material copyrighted. To ensure this does not happen within our group we will have to source materials that are copyright free, for example the music that we might use.
Also, following the copyright rules we have to take into consideration that we are branding our dolls in a certain way and that they have the correct 'image' in which we want them to follow in our group.
Broadcast safe:
Broadcast-safe video (broadcast legal or legal signal) is a term used in the broadcast industry to define video and audio compliant with the technical or regulatory broadcast requirements of the target area or region the feed might be broadcasting to.
Colour is important in an ident because it is how a channel is recognized for example the BBC is known for using the colour red which is a primary colour which means it is a main and dominant colour. This is broadcast safe. This means that only certain colours can be broadcasted on the ident to prevent any visual issues of how it might look on screen. For example since we are using purple we have to keep within the values of 235 or less on the idents otherwise it will come up too bright and can cause a screen buzz or 'clipping'.
Another important colour we have to take into consideration is green, although the only part of green we are using is the football pitch on our ident we have to make sure that the shot is not to bright.

TREATMENT
The theme of our suite of ident is called have a life which ties in with the school motto, We have also gone with your request of making them seasonal, the idea will be centered around the enrichments that we do in the school at various points in the year, we are going to animating dolls to perform all these enrichments such as the fashion show for example and we have used dolls as it emphasises our theme above life. For the first ident in the suite, we are going to have series of dolls walking down the runway, this way we can see the doll carrying out an enrichment and also shows that they have "Life".
The second ident in the suite will be again the dolls been animated during the Oscars awards we have in the school again using the dolls emphasise the theme of life that we are going for and because these idents happen at a different time in the year we can use them as a seasonal suit of idents. The third ident is going to again have dolls playing football and supporters which don't only show the theme of life but also hammers home the theme of community as well. The last and the final one will again feature the dolls for the last time in the art show which is also an enrichment.
We are going to achieve this by getting our dolls and a suitable backdrop and animating them to carry out these things which will take a lot of time and has increased the time of our production however we feel that we wiill be able to meet the deadline that you have set,

Explain his ideas to the team for them to have full understanding of what they are doing and also share the roles amongst them, this is important because if they do not understand the idea problems will arise later in the prouction stage and that is very bad for business as a lot of money could be lost

Solutions
|
The first is that we might overrun our budget and that can hinder us from completing the project
|
Though the brief states that the budget will be 50, due to the fact that we are the ones contributing the money ourselves we have decided to raise more than what is needed.
|
The second is health and safety issues; we have looked at our preferred location and one of the health and safety is a stone hitting someone or people around hitting one of my crew with whatever they are playing with.
|
The solution to this is that we are going to film in the afternoon during weekdays when most people are at work or late In the evening we will be using the longer daylight as one of our advantages.
|
The third is that at our preferred location there is a pool close by and one can mistakenly fall into it and drown. Or one of our equipment’s might be damaged by falling into the water.
|
The solution to this is that we are going to film as far away from the pool as possible.
|
The fourth will be our props not arriving on time or not been able to book out equipments.
|
Our solution to this is that we are going to book all our equipment’s that we need a week earlier and order what we need two weeks earlier to our production week or day
|
The fifth will be that since we are doing animation we are going to struggle as this is our first time at fully going at it.
|
Our solution to this is that prior to our production week we are going to do different mock-ups of the same idea in stop motion so that we get used to it and have experience on how to deal with certain issues when they arise.
|
The sixth will be securing our location in time.
|
Our solution to this is that we are going to book or secure our location a week to our production week or date and also we are going to have a backup location in case we need it if any problem arises with the first location.
|
Our budget is largely over spent.
|
The major things we are spending our money on which are equipment and editing suit we can get for free at the school when we book them out.

LEGAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES
In making our product and carrying out the brief we have some certain constraints that have to be addressed, the first thing is copyright; we have to make sure that every logo and sound that we are going to be using has been approved for us to be used by the owners, if we don't get all the permission to use either the logo and other sounds our content might be removed and we will be sued not us in general but our clients organisation might be sued and have to pay a very large amount of money, another thing is that we have to get consent of the actors that we are going to be using especially the under 18s and we have to be careful on the way we portray them as sometimes it is illegal to show under 18s carrying out certain activities on screen.
Another thing we have to be careful of is how we portray different genders on screen, we will have to portray both genders equal so that there are no offences taken by either gender and no discrimination been held against our final product. Also, we to be careful in portraying different religion as the city we live in is a multi-faith city and we have to balance the equality between each religion as we don't want to portray the company as a single faith company even though it is a catholic organisation.
Also, we have to be careful not to portray a very bad image of a particular ethnic group as again we live in a city that is very multi-ethnic and can cause a lot of problems and controversy.

TASK 2C
For this project, I am going to be taking the role Director of the project, the reason I have chosen this role is because; I am the leader of my group and given that role will make me be able to make crucial decisions for the group that we ensure that we get the work done. Also, we have all had a go of pitching our ideas to each and overall everyone picked mine as the one we should do and automatically that puts me as the director of the project as it is my idea and I would understand and know how I want the project to look and how it should be carried out.
identify opportunities for self-development; Me taking this role has given the opportunity for me to develop my leadership skills even Furthur than the current level that it is already at, also I identified another opportunity for me develop as a director, which is a role that I am very interested in and would like to carry on and do something similar or exactly the same in the near future, also I have identified opportunities for me to be able to develop my communication skills and presentation skills as this time on the project/brief we are working with an actual client which makes it very close if not a real life situation, it has also given the opportunity for me to showcase the skills that I have learnt and picked up within m study in the past year and this year.

new skills; This is the first time I am creating an animated project and its a very big opportunity for me to learn how to do that to add to me skillset, also I have added new skills such as reading and annotating a brief into different sections such as nature and demand, I have also picked up new negotiating skills which was used by me and my group to negotiate some certain terms in the brief with the client. I have also learnt how to handle myself in a professional manner when conversing or negotiating with the client.
multi-skilling; Due to us having a small number of members in our group they will be needs whereby everyone in the group will have to take on one or more skills to ensure that the project or the brief will be carried out effectively. I might be taking on the role of a director and an animator and others in my group will have to pick other roles alongside the one that they are doing.
contributions to project brief: Contributions I will be making to this project will be the idea creator and also be the animator of this brief and the project. I will also be the leader of the project and I will have to make sure that everything runs out smoothly.
