How it visually interprets the track both music & lyrics
The lyrics is visualized in the video by I using dark themes as the lyrics talk about night time which is associated with darkness and dark themes. Also when it talks about red wine in the lyrics we will see on screen something like a red cloth moving around. Also the track goes very slow so the editing will show that by using a slow pace editing they are a lot of beat which we can cut to so we are going to be using beat editing a lot. When the

ROLE OF DIRECTOR

I would like to work as a director on Ugo's idea because watching his pitch I fully understood the concept that he wanted and what he was going for and it was doable and also it would attract the kind of fans he his looking for also I noticed during his pitch that he stated the kind of image he was trying to build and I thought with the artist that Ugo has it would be easy to create that image for him. I think I am best suited for this role because I have an understanding of what Ugonna wants and I am very reliable and always ready to work. If not given this role I would like to get the role of the editor because I enjoy editing and I would be able to edit to the song that Ugo has brought to the table and also I have been working on my editing skills and can't wait to showcase them.

Chroma Key is a type of effect where by green screen is used to add special effects or put people in diffrent locations. An advangtage of chroma key is that it is cheaper that other special effects that are present in music videos or films. Chroma key is mainly used to increase the sense of hyper-reality as everything created through the use of chroma key are not real but most times it is used in a way that gets a certain reaction out of viewers and gives the music video a certain mood, also this effect can be used to visuals a track.
The advantages of using chromakey when it works out well is that it can be used to create a desired fell and show the relationship between lyrics and visuals strongly and can also send out direct meaning of the song while entertain the views at the same time and example of where chromakey has worked out was in kate perrys ET; in this music video the theme or the message of the music video can be grabbed that the song is about some thing extratresstial and we can see a lot of relationship between lyrics and visuals nearly throughout the whole track most of them are literally. While getting these messages the viewers still enjoy the music video as well.

V
Not in all cases that Chromakey works perfectly well like it did in the music video above, sometomes chroma key when used wrongly can make a music video look extremely bad and very unacctractive but these badly made music videos have a tendancy to go viral. As musch as it makes the musci video go viral it shows that the artist or the director has no originality or creativity as they depend massively on just green screen and makes the music video look so unreal and fake. An example is the kanye west - Bond 2

The use of chroma key was going so well until 0:37 where we see the artist lip syncing behind what happens to be clouds its not very noticeable but there is no way they would have been able to film him like that without using chroma key which made it look fake, Then it all fell apart in 0:40 where we see the artist again on a motorbike through moving images which looks 100% fake and these goes on throughout the song. Even though there was bad use of chroma key in this music video it wasn't using it for the purpose of making the video look appealing rather it was going for the purpose of intertextuality linking to the images of the grand canyon and the wild west which symbolizes freedom and the American heritage, therefore in this music video the use of chroma key was for the viewers to focus on the artist rather that the story or whatever was going on screen drawing their attention to key things show on screen that provokes the thought of the viewers to connote a meaning from what they were seeing but even though it succeeded in doing so the music video still looked bad they could have used chroma key better to still get the same sort of effect that they were after.

The use of chroma key overtime has improved a great deal which is more because technolohy has improved a lot compared to what it was back then and we can see these in the 1993 Micheal Jackson where he had eddie murpyh in; this was the first time green screen was used and the reason it was used in that music video was to show the relationship between Micael and Eddie.
Comparing that to what we have now like the Et video the use of chroma key has advanced and has given directors the power to unlimit their creativity and make astonishing music videos that have a meaning and shows the relationship between lyrics and visual while giving the music video a particular feel making the music video more appealing and intresting to viewers.

Another terrible case of awful chroma key is David Hasselhoff - Hooked on a Feeling. This when David utilize the chroma key for various area which was not reasonable for . in the music video we see David Hack before green screen lip matching up and diverse area showed up behind him. By this it annihilates the imaginative of it as he was not mix in with the foundation and getting a 3D square with that has natured in side of it (0:52-1:06) and later flies noticeable all around (1:07-1:11)which takes away the hyperality of it. Another things that wasn't right was almost every verse he said would show up on the screen which made it unsurprising. in this video it represents that he has extraordinary forces and he can wherever in the meantime.

Like Kanye west-bound 2 and David Hasselhoff - Hooked on a Feeling they were seriously utilized of chroma key yet however whether it use for the wrong it can prompt to a music video to viral as David Hasselhoff - Hooked on a Feeling had 12,438,341 perspectives though Kanye West Bound 2 had 59,970,937 perspectives which obviously states terrible chroma key prompt to a video turning into a web sensation.

Assessment 3c(i); How to Guide On How To Beat Edit.

In order to make a beat editing video first we will have to start off by downloading the track of the music we are going to be editing to and then drag or import the soundtrack into Final Cut Pro or any editing application you chose to use. Next you listen to the track and mark on the soundtrack the beat; this is usually done by pressing M on the keyboard for Final cut pro and it marks the section where the play head is at, the reason for doing this is that when you start dragging your videos in you will know when to cut rather that listening to the track all over again and sometimes you might actually miss the beat. The next step is the easy part you download your clips and insert them into Final cut pro and then you drag them onto the timeline and you start cutting or editing to the markers and as you play the project you find out that it cuts to the beat and anywhere you miss the beat you can go back and mark where ever you missed. I have created a 30 seconds beat editing in the video below, first as we know by now I imported the music or soundtrack which in this case was turn down for what. After importing it I listened to the first 30 seconds and marked the beat as I listened, then I imported the video clips I was going to use and in this case they were mostly stock footage except the three dancers which we actually went out and filmed. I used the cut tool to cut the footage to the marker which was representing the beat; I had to cut between the stock footage and the actual footage of the three dancers because the track was very upbeat making me cut at a relatively high rate. Before the track got to 20 seconds i was cutting to the beat of the drum that was used to introduce the song. After that the snares started to come in and due to that I had to quicken the pace of my editing making the song an excited and dynamic tone in order to entertain the viewers.
In order for me to make this music video better, I should have cut more to the snares and the drums together rather than separating them and cutting to only one at different sections of the song. For credits the music video established and showed relationship between music and visuals making what was on screen match what is heard.

LIP SYNCING
Inside the initial 30 seconds of the track, there was just the beat however there were verses towards the end of the initial 30 seconds of the track. Towards the end, there was no lip matching up originating from the choreographers. The reason with reference to why is lip-matching up is regular in hip-hop and it makes their execution conspicuous to the viewers since the artist is demonstrating the viewers that he/she can sing and in addition move. Likewise, lip-synchronizing in hip-hop  music videos make a feeling of force and authenticity while giving it an urban feel to the music video by fortifying the picture of the artist. To make this video more unmistakable as a hip-hop music video, lip-syncing  should have been incorporated into the music video generally it's a dance music video. The motivation behind utilizing lip-syncing as a part of hip-hop music video is that it gives the reference that the artists singing and the verses being sung have a place with the artist so they are the ones performing in the music video. Given that its likewise a performance video, the video makes it appear as though they are performing live so the video is a promotion for the live show.

SUMMER MUSIC VIDEO
In my music video that I created over the sumer, I used the beat that introduced the song to cut between songs to show dynmaics between the music and the visuals but I didnt maintin it through out the track and made it a bit boring towards the end. I also used lip syncing in order to show some sort  of perfomance associated withe the artist and also to give the shots used some meaning. Alos I tired to match the lyrics with the visuals; when the artist sang about a crown it usually cut to the coronation of a queen.

To Improve this music video I should have gone out to film most of it myself rather than depending on stock footage which limited my creativity to what I just had.

INTRODUCTION

In a Music video there a lot of camera point use keeping in mind the end goal to make some kind of importance and some kind of mind-set. We utilize camera points since it makes a succession of capture by this it gives a feeling of feeling of the character we sense this feeling through the distinctive camera edge. Through seeing diverse camera points the gathering of people it educates us more data regarding the character played or the craftsman.

Birds Eye View

One of camera point use in a music video winged animals eye see this is used to demonstrate an alternate point of view of a protest. How you utilize this method is overhead shot have the camera put noticeable all around utilizing an automaton to film the area such the highest point of London, Canary Wharf. This procedures is used toward the start of a music video. For instance, 'Blast Bang Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Jessie J' they utilize this method to let know where the music video is set (0:02-0:06). This is great camera point to utilize on the grounds that it warms up the music video. the motivation behind this is to see the subject in an alternate point of view so on the off chance that a flying creatures perspective.

HIGH ANGLE

A high Angle is the camera is indicating down on the talent which is a typical part of music recordings. This is finished by figuring out how to get above then and after that shooting downwards. To do this you will either should be on a higher ground, a high tripod or even in some cases an automaton. In a music video, the vocalist will have a tendency to gaze upward while singing however it can likewise be utilized inside a story execution.

This is not outrageous as the 10,000 foot sees but rather the camera is still place over the question or character. By this it gives a review of the move making place this makes the character seems littler in the edge and outlines that the character or craftsman picture is significant in the shot. This strategies is appeared on a man to demonstrate that they are not in power and feeble. You can utilize this strategy by remaining on higher divider and recording the character above of you.

Low angle

Another camera point use in a music video is a Low edge this the inverse of high edge. This procedures is appeared by the camera is gazing toward the character. By this it delineate that the character or talent has control over the camera administrator it additionally demonstrates that the individual is overwhelm in edge and everything around is littler. You can utilize this procedure by putting the camera close tilting the camera upward making the character bigger in the shotThe reason for utilizing low point shot is to make the subject all the more capable, overwhelm and have more control over individual . By utilizing this methods the group of onlookers can tell what sort of craftsman the individual is and makes an effective picture for the craftsman as it demonstrates that craftsman is all the more intense.

In a music video diverse edge are utilize contingent upon the class for instance, rap and shake utilizes low edge a ton as a part of music video this is on the grounds that the craftsman is taking a stab at making a picture that is capable. Additionally rap and shake music video are typically forceful so they utilize low edge to demonstrate their identity and picture as a craftsman. For instance, for my late spring music video we didn't utilize no low points in our music video as its kind is RnB which does not utilize low edge in this type.

Canted (Dutch) angle

An extra camera point use in a music video is inclined (Dutch) edge. This utilized at some point to demonstrate that the camera is tilted this delineates the character is unsteady this edge is use as perspective and gives us a within the character mind sense this can show that the character is befuddle . You can utilize this strategy by turning the camera level to allocate. For instance, Jordan - Something About You (Official Video)' utilize this procedure as the talent is strolling this underscore character is flimsy and befuddle. By utilizing this systems it makes significance and mind-set to the music video as this video importance is about disarray of young lady that the talent is attempting to discover.

Track away

one huge strategies that most music video incorporate into following. There are three sorts of following without end one of them is following endlessly this most use in a music video, this is the point at which the camera remains a specific measure of 3ft or slightly more separate from the activity. For instance, the craftsman is coming towards the camera and the camera moving in an opposite direction from the craftsman while recording. By utilizing a following without end development it outline that the craftsman is in control and has control over the camera administrator. The motivation behind following without end development in a music video since it demonstrates that craftsman is forceful furthermore give the group of onlookers a feeling of perspective. Additionally the reason for utilizing this system since it makes livelier yet you should be cautious as you should be suited to the class and subject you are going for.

In a music video diverse camera development are utilize contingent upon the class for instance, Rap and Hip-bounce utilizes this system as a part of craftsmen recordings as the executive or camera administrator is attempting to get the message over that their picture is certain and has control.

Dolly In

Another camera development use in a music video is Dolly In. this is a system in which the camera draws nearer or encourage from the subject while all the while altering the zoom edge to keep the subject a similar size in the casing. You do this by holding the camera flat and zoom in and out. The reason for utilizing a dolly as a part of development is it can [2]introduce wide-edge twisting or changes in the evident profundity of field. Therefore, it's occasionally desirable over dolly than zoom.

Handheld

Another camera development use in a music video handheld. Handheld is the point at which the activity is moving too rapidly or too capriciously for the camera to be on a tripod. This calls for making the camera more portable and ready to take after the activity of a scene. Most times the camera will just be held by the administrator. This implies tripod is not utilize and the camera administrator is holding the camera free-given. You do this by holding the camera ensuring it is relentless after the craftsman or camera.

In a music video diverse camera development are utilize contingent upon the class for instance, for the most part hip-bounce, rap, non mainstream and in a few sections in shake this is on the grounds that it gives a feeling of feeling and absence of unacceptability.

Zoom out/in

In music recordings camera development is essential as it brings a feeling of live execution, state of mind and pace. A camera development use in a music video is zoom out/in this demonstrates the character is claustrophobic. You do this by recording the craftsman performing by changing the concentration focal points making the craftsman nearer to you, by this profundity of field would show up additionally it would make more profundity to the music video. At the point when zooming out it makes the focal points more extensive and the craftsman or subject get to be littler by zooming out/in the group of onlookers judge what star picture you are, for example, capable, certain or feeble

2b.2&3 Post modern styles

PERFORMANCE
One of Godwin's major theories is that music videos in general include or have different genre characteristic that appeals to each genre's target audience in their own way, for example, the conventions that will be used in a rock music video will be different from that of a pop music video as they have different target audience and different genre conventions, But within all these conventions they are very common ones that are present in most if not all music videos and that is performance.
Most music videos are performance based and this is when the artist is performing in front of the camera either lip syncing to the song that is been played or dancing in a choreography or it might even be them acting and one of the main reason  these have been done is to give the artist a certain image to sell them advertising them to their fans that they can actually perform very well and if they come to one of their concert that is what they are going to expect and the fans buy into this and pay money to see this artist perform ;live which is the only way artist and recording labels make money these days as music is no longer valued; people now torrent music and don't pay for them anymore, In the music video I have chosen above most of it is performance as we see the two artists Justin and Niki both lip sync to the song and also we can see Niki doing the same as well; we also see Justin in a choreography later on in  the video and the whole music video is basically him performing.
Later that year Justin featured the dance that was in the music video on all his tours and also when he presented at the victoria secret fashion show, just by him performing that dance in his music video it grabs a lot of attention of his fans that it soon became his signature, That is how much performance is important to a music video.

NARRATIVE
Most post music videos tend to have narratives in them in the sense that they have a story that is attached ton the music itself which makes the music more of a soundtrack to the short film or narrative that they are watching, the reason they do this is to entertain the viewers as they watch the music video and the more the watch it when they remember the video the song pops up in their head because that's the song that accompanied or acted as a soundtrack to the short film; the stories can be either narrative or non-narrative and most of the time they tend to go viral,
In the music video above we can say it could be a non-narrative story going on as there are a lot of flashbacks and flash forwards and also there are some form of performance in there as we can also see the artist lip syncing to the song and also there is a choreography in the music present as well, Also in the music video we can see that the artist isn't just been an artist he has also picked up an acting role as well.

CONCEPTUAL
Conceptual music videos are usually based on a single idea or a concept and most times they are unusual or obscure. The unusual content is an attraction to many consumers which is meant to draw them in. Conceptual music videos challenges conventions as they do not have the basic or normal music video conventions such as lip syncing or instruments playing or the artist actually performing; a conceptual music video is usually based around an idea either to support the idea or most times it contradicts or exaggerates the idea trying to send out some sort of message to the viewers and most times the conceptual music videos are viral. In the music video that  I have chosen above we do not see the artist performing or any instruments been played rather we are been forced to follow a certain character who is lonely and his home has been destroyed. In my opinion, I think this music video is exaggerating the theme loneliness and ho no one knows he is lonely and we can relate to the lyrics as in the song the artist makes a lot of references to Atlantis which is a lost lonely city under the sea which is probably a fairy tale but most people still believing in it and at the end where he finds someone who is on the same quest as him shows or amplifies the fact that a lot of people still believe in what they cannot see.

Homage

Homage is when the artist shows respect and dedication to a specific artist or any inspirations which helped the artist make their music. An example of a music video with a homage style is Thirty Seconds to Mars-The Kill because the hotel which was the location used for this music video is a reference to the horror movie called The Shining, meaning that they are paying respects to Stephen King who wrote the novel of The Shining and Stanley Kubrick who directed the film based on Stephen King's novel. The reason why homage is used in music videos is because it shows the audience the artist's role model, their inspirations which lead them to becoming what the artist is now.

Parody

A parody is a imitative work that celebrates or mocks the original work of the artist for comedy and satirical purposes. Parody music videos are also known as viral videos because there artist is being deliberately exaggerated for views on YouTube. This music video is an example of a parody because is a track which deliberately exaggerates Michael Jackson's Beat It. The location and the costume that the artist was wearing in this video resembles Michael Jackson's Beat It. The reason as to why they chose the costume and location similar to the original track is because they are trying to trivialise Michael Jackson. In other words if someone was to watch this viral video, then they would consider Michael Jackson to be a sellout rather than the King Of Pop.

Pastiche

Pastiche is an artist's work that respectfully imitates the style of another artist's work. Pastiche and Homage are very similar since they involve the same thing. This music video is an example of a pastiche music video because the whole video was shot in one take. This was already done before by Lucas Secon in his song Lucas with the lid off in 1994. This however can also be seen as reference to Lucas who was the first one to shoot a one take music video. Therefore, the audience can remember the first artist to shoot a one take music video.

Surrealism

If something you see is surreal in a music video, then it is something so abstract that it's unreal. All animated music videos incorporate surrealism. An example of surreal music videos would be Coldplay because this video uses real locations but however the actual surrealism comes from the apes lip-syncing to the lyrics and dancing instead of swing from tree to tree. In other words, the apes are being given humanistic actions such as the choreographing and the lip-syncing used in this music video. This music video was effective in entertaining the audience as if it was an animated film. Surrealism is also used because the audience wants to be removed from modern-day society and placed in a different world.

Animation

Animated music videos involve drawings or plasticine models to act as an illusion in the music video. Animated music videos are more of a cartoon based approach to music videos. Their sole purpose is to make the video look more abstract and unique so that it interests the targeted audience so that they can be entertained by a short animation film.
